The Semiconductor and Electronics sector is finding increasing value in the space of defence, agriculture, aerospace, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), IoT-enabled electronics and AI-driven chips in a range of application areas, including consumer electronics. Whilst cut-throat competition, reduced profit margins, intensive research and development costs, security concerns around IoT connectivity, continue to be obstacles for new and existing players, the sector is experiencing a boost on account of soaring demand for IT hardware, office automation products and consumer electronics products such as mobile phones, automotive products and data centres. The industry is increasingly influencing the areas of biotechnology, medicine, nano-sciences and electro-mechanical devices, among others.
